Downloading Made Easy

Note: When people are new to downloading, they often fear that they will "mess something up." Not to worry!

We recommend that you print out this page, and follow the directions carefully. If something doesn't work, just re-read the directions slowly and try again.

The screen shots and directions below are for readers using WinXP. If you're using an earlier version of Windows, or a different operating system or browser, your screens and process will be slightly different but the principles remain the same.

After our shopping cart successfully processes your credit card payment,  you'll be taken directly to your personal download page.

If you don't manage to download your eBook successfully right away, don't panic. You are welcome to email our Support Desk with your question. But start here first!

In a nutshell, here's what to do....

1. Find the automatic email from us with the Subject Line that says: "Downloading your digital product...."

Inside that email is a link that you can use to return to your personal download page. Note that it is only valid for 24 hours.

If you don't receive this email within an hour, please email our Support Desk.

2. Download the eBook and SAVE it onto your own computer desktop.

3. Double-click on the file to open it. Now you can read it on-screen or print it out.

MORE ABOUT PDF FILES....

Your "Saying Goodbye with Love" eBook is a PDF (Portable Document Format) file:

PDF files make it possible for anyone to read the documents, on any computer ... even if they don't have the same software we used to create them.

Downloading Step-by-Step

1. Use the link in your "Downloading..." email

You'll receive an automatic email from us (usually within 30 minutes of your order, depending on Internet traffic). The email will have as its Subject: "Downloading your digital product"

Inside that email, you'll see your own personal temporary download link:

Your link will have its own unique Order ID, which gives you access to the download link for the next 24 hours only. (This is to prevent unauthorized sharing of the link.)

Some users (especially on AOL and Hotmail) may not see a clickable link (a link like the one above that is blue and underlined). If your link is not clickable, just copy everything from "http://" to the end of that line and paste it into the Address bar of your Internet browser.

2. Download your eBook

As long as you return to your personal download page within the 24 hours, you'll again see a screen similar to the one below....

PC Users: Do not just click on the links to download the file! If you do, it will open up right away in your browser, but when you close the browser, the file will disappear.

Instead, you want to save the PDF file onto your own computer. So click your RIGHT mouse button.

  • Use your RIGHT mouse button to click the DOWNLOAD NOW link.

(Mac Users: You don't have left and right mouse buttons, so just click the file. But be sure to SAVE it onto your own computer.)

Okay, now you'll see a menu similar to this....

  • Click Save Target As...

Next you'll see a screen similar to this....

  • Click the DESKTOP icon (on the left) to save the file onto your desktop. Then click SAVE.

On a high speed connection, this will download in a few seconds. If you're on dialup, it may take 30 minutes or more. Don't interrupt it!

When the download is complete, you'll see a screen similar to this:

Good work! You have just saved the eBook onto your computer's Desktop. Now it's time to open that file.

  • Click the OPEN button.

Here's your eBook....

If you need help moving around the eBook, click on the HELP menu (on the top right of the eBook).

3. To open the files again later

If you want to return to the eBook later, just start up your computer. On the opening Desktop, you should see the PDF file that you saved earlier. It will look something like this...

To open the PDF file, just double-click it.

Now you can either read your eBook on the screen or print it out, and perhaps put it into a binder, whichever you like best.

If you have any trouble opening the file or see any strange error messages you probably need to update your copy of the FREE Adobe Reader software.

You'll find a link for it here ... Troubleshooting and Error Messages

That's also the place to find help with printing problems, "garbage" characters, and special tips for AOL-ers.
